Scott Peter Leigh
Executive Director
Scott Peter Leigh has distinguished himself as an administrator for non-profit agencies for over twenty years in both California and the Midwest. He has previously served as a Director for the Sacramento Area Emergency Housing Center, Executive Director for the Sacramento Builder’s Exchange, and as a hospital administrator at Via Christi Regional Medical Center in Wichita (KS). In addition to his administrative duties, for several years Scott taught Ethics & Philosophy to nursing students at Newman University in Wichita, and also enjoyed being an instructor and counselor in private secondary educational institutions. He has been a private consultant to businesses and corporations for structural reorganization and fundraising. Scott began his current position as the Executive Director of the Sacramento Youth Symphony & Academy of Music (SYS) in 2007.
Mr. Leigh holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology and philosophy from the University of San Francisco (USF), a Masters of Arts degree in sacred theology from the acclaimed St. Vladimir’s Graduate School in New York City (NY), and has done post graduate work at Fordham University. He has sung with a variety of choral groups throughout his life, has directed parish choirs, and especially enjoys opera.
Scott, his fiancée Debbie, and their three daughters own a walnut ranch in Sutter County. They enjoy travel, gardening, model railroading, are avid readers, and of course love music!
